80 Years of German made Fords

This year Ford Germany celebrates a jubilee as 80 years ago the factory in Köln (Cologne) was opened. Ford had been assembling the Model T in Berlin as of 1925, but increasing sales warranted a proper factory. From 1931 on two versions of the Model A were made, at first with imported parts, but by 1937 the Ford Eifel (Flickr.com) was 100% German made. At the recent Essen Classica we spotted this nice post-war example, a 1950 Ford Taunus, nicknamed “buckeltaunus” or humpback Taunus.
