Few cars embody the glamour and charisma of hand-built British motoring quite like the Aston Martin V8 Volante. Introduced in 1978 and produced in limited numbers, the elegant Volante combined effortless V8 performance with timeless styling and quickly established itself as one of the most desirable luxury convertibles of its era.

This 1979 Aston Martin V8 Volante 'Oscar India' is presented in a handsome shade of dark green, beautifully complemented by a tan leather interior with contrasting green piping. Showing just 32,000 miles, the car is offered as part of a deceased estate and has been off the road and in storage for many years. No online MoT history is available, suggesting it has not seen regular road use since at least the mid-2000s, while tax discs on file indicate it may last have been in active use during the early 1990s.

Although not believed to be a factory Vantage model, the car is fitted with the desirable closed Vantage-style front grille, Vantage badging and Vantage alloy wheels, giving it a particularly sporting appearance. The history file contains an extensive collection of invoices from the late 1980s and 1990s, suggesting the car was the subject of substantial refurbishment during that time. Documented works include repairs to the aluminium wings, sill replacement, corrosion rectification, suspension mounting repairs and numerous mechanical improvements. Invoices from Aston Martin, specialist suppliers and Connolly Leather further illustrate the considerable investment made in preserving this handsome Volante.

Today, the Volante remains remarkably well preserved. The hood is in pleasing condition, the interior requires only minor attention to present particularly well and the paintwork remains respectable, although many purchasers may choose to undertake cosmetic refinements to bring the finish to the next level. Offered as a non-running recommissioning project and excitingly without reserve, this Aston Martin represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of Newport Pagnell's most iconic creations and return it to the road once more.
