The Mini continues to be one of the world’s most recognisable and well-loved automobiles, and was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959-2000. The original is undoubtedly an icon of 1960s Britain, and its space-saving front-wheel drive layout, allowing 80% of the area of the car's floorplan to be used for passengers and luggage, influenced generations of car design. The first Mini had three major updates in the UK: the Mk. II, Clubman, and Mk. III. Within these were a series of variations including an estate car, a pick-up and a van. The Mini Cooper and Cooper ‘S’ were sportier variations, and hugely successful in motorsports, winning the Monte Carlo Rally four times from 1964 through to 1967.

This yellow example was supplied new by Page Motors Leatherhead on 20^th June 1980. The original purchase invoice for £3,953.39 is included with the car, which was first owned by a Mr Maynard, for 36 years before selling to the second owner in 2016. At this point, the owner carried out a ground-up restoration, including an engine rebuild, but importantly retained the original bodyshell. In 2023 this Mini was purchased by our vendor from the Historics Brooklands Velocity auction for a sum of £17,732. In our vendors’ ownership continual maintenance has been performed including a recent service and an uprated water pump and radiator. The trim is in fantastic order and certainly commensurate with the odometer reading and, despite a few paint blemishes, the car presents well. Supplied with the car is the original sales order, two old-style V5s, original driver’s handbook, passport to service, a heritage certificate and 16 old MoT test certificates dating back to 1984 which verify the low mileage. What’s more, this Mini is supplied with an MoT test certificate until December 2026, making it a fantastic opportunity to own a low mileage, low owner, fully restored example.
