A visit to the Miura ranch

We see loads of stories about the 50 year story of  Lamborghini. Here a a few  words offered to you by Francisco Carríon about the origin of the name Miura (full story in spanish if you like under Read More).
"Anyone who ever visited the arena for a bullfight knows of the variety of feelings one experiences: amazement, thrill, risk or shock. Tradition says that if the bulls are of the Miura breed, it is even more likely that the bullfight will be more dangerous for the bullfighter because these bulls have a reputation. In Spain, everyone knows what the word "Miura" means and usually will not have the association  with a car. It is the name given to a particular breed of bull-fighting cattle, however it is also used figuratively to refer to people who are daring, valiant or reckless; people who have no fear of danger. The fame of these bulls dates from 1842 when the Miura cattle ranch was established in the province of Seville.
Many bulls of this sevillian herd have brought fame to renowned bullfighters of different eras, but also caused the death of some of the most famous, especially during the twentieth century, culminating in the death of bullfighter "Manolete" in 1947. Even the public came to see the long neck or noticeable muscles of the Miura bulls, the one which was known for its terrifying roar. Any bullfight would acquire greater fame if Miura bulls fought, to the point that some matadors took up the challenge during the early twentieth century in view of a higher salary when he had to deal this sevillian breed of bulls. The public really expected "blood" whenever Miura bulls were involved.

Currently, the Miura  ranch is still run by the descendants of its founder, Don Juan Miura, and is the one which has achieved most trophies over all existing ranches.
