A pretty normal sighting for those who frequently participate with Classic Le Mans and/or Mille Miglia. Yet on the streets of Amsterdam, well not every day. While visiting the RDW (the Dutch Vehicle & Road Authority) last Friday we met father and son Houtkamp, better known for their post-war Aston Martins. They just started unloading a French gem, yes coloured in Bleu Grand Prix. Said to be a 1945 Deutsch Bonnet based on Traction Avant drivetrain and a miles and miles of racing history. According to Houtkamp senior the car is recently best known from the MM but the car built most of its early postwar history and palmares at Le Mans. It should be noted he added that the nose of the car has been changed many times over the years. The car will land in the garage of a Dutch collector and of course we are most curious if it will stay in its current guise or wikll be restored to its early post-war appearance.
