It will not be long before the next TechnoClassica in Essen opens its doors. Like many other automobile manufacturers, Volvo will be there too. This time they will have a special exhibition to celebrate that fifty years ago (in 1961) the Volvo P1800 saw the light of day. They will bring several special P1800 models, among which the X1, the very first P1800 prototype, hand-built in 1957 at Frua in Turin. But it’s not all automobiles at the Volvo stand. Also present will be Irv Gordon from the USA, who has clocked up more than 4,500,000 km (almost 3 million miles) in his P1800!
