The Amelia Island Concours isn't just another car show, but rather a seemingly enchanted place where magical moments pop up year after year. A feature on Friday is a small invitation-only Marque Car Road Tour that ends with a parade and display in downtown Fernandina Beach, claimed by some to be America's second oldest city. Parking several blocks away and heading for the parade route, we spied a small sports car well ahead... parked, lets say, less than legally at the curb. When we got near enough to make an ID, well, it was one of those magical moments mentioned earlier. Be honest, when was the last time you spotted a pristine and unattended Porsche 904GTS parked on a downtown city side street? Kudos to owner Randall Johnson of Dallas, TX, for believing that cars are meant for driving, as well as for being one of the numerous willing wizards casting their spells every year at Amelia.
