The auctioneers keep on surprising you and us with whole cars on offer in 2019. They continue to offer complete collections, too, and we found that two will make it to the block within the next few weeks.
Firstly there is RM, which will bring over a huge number of cars to Fort Lauderdale on March 29th and 30th. Now, let’s have a look at the lots from number 1078-up. Here we find deal of great classics from ‘A private Swiss collection’, which will make your mouth no doubt water. Leaving out the Pre-Wars there are 10 cars left – all of them Americans and all of them in seemingly pristine order. In order of appearance they are a 1953 Hudson Hornet Sedan in mint green and formerly owned by Steve McQueen, a 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner, a 1963 Chrysler 300 Sport Series Convertible Coupe, a 1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Convertible, a 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, a 1956 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria Skyliner, a 1947 Chrysler Town and Country Convertible, a 1959 Imperial Crown Convertible, a 1957 Packard Clipper Country Sedan and a 1955 Studebaker Commander Regal Hardtop. The accumulated estimate of all these cars together come at 530- to 825,000 dollars. Now, don’t get us wrong as this is an awful lot of money, but perhaps it's not so bad. We'll show you.
Let’s have a look at the other collection that will make it to an auction just a week later. This time with Bonhams, which will present them at the Goodwood Member’s Meeting on April 7. Again, plenty of cars can be expected to sell here, the ones that struck us come from one and the same collection once again. This is known as the Key Collection and originates from Turkey. Leaving out the Pre-Wars once again, there are now 11 cars left. Starting at lot number 61, they are a 1958 Fiat-Abarth 750 GT ‘Double bubble’, a 1947 Delahaye Type 135M Cabriolet ex-Paris motor show, a 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Twon & Country Convertible, a 1951 Jaguar Mk5 3½-Litre Drophead Coupe, a 1960 Facel Vega HK500, a 1956 Mercedes 300SC Coupe, a 1950 Healey Tickford Sport Saloon, a 1972 De Tomaso Pantera, a 1963 Corvette Sting Ray, a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 ‘Series IV’ and a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. Grand total is a whopping. An unusual cocktail perhaps, with great differences in their estimates (we adore the Healey most, which is believed to be the cheapest of them all!). The grand total of all these cars together is now estimated at 2,929,000 to 3,653,000 dollars.
Easy choosing, right?
