PostWarClassic of the week: 1954 Delahaye 235 Coach Chapron
With the big auctions at Amelia Island just behind us, you would almost forget there is so much more. Luckily, we stroll our online marketplace all day long and see the most fantastic cars. One of them is this stunning 1954 Delahaye 235 Coach Chapron. That will be auctioned at the French auction house Osenat on March 23th, 2019.
The history:
This Delahaye 235 was delivered on May 11, 1954 to the director of the brand, Pierre Peigney,. It was bodied by Chapron and was the last Delahaye to leave the Chapron's workshop! The history is known since then and in recent years the car has been extensively used. According to the description, the former owner travelled 15.000 km's since he purchased the car in 2002.
The car clearly had a passionate owner, as it looks to be in very nice condition. The looks are beautiful and we can see ourselves touring this car in the North of France. With its cotal gearbox it will be a very relaxing trip.
