Art was always our favourite class at school. And so, other than maths or economics, we remember things from these lessons after all those years. Colours, for example, are a fascinating matter. And when you have a good look at the colour wheel you can see all sorts of schemes. The colours opposite each other are called the complementary colours. They are the ones that provide maximum contrast, or in other words they stand out from one another the strongest compared to being paired with other colours.
Yellow and purple are such complementary colours and that’s what makes today’s Friday Lady picture so smashing. Isn't she lovely? And how about that car? A Renault 17 we think. Or was it the 15? Hang on, had the car been green, like the other one she posed with on the day, it would not have been quite so striking. In that case an orange coloured dress or suit would have helped better to make it stand out as much as possible. Or the other way ‘round of course, orange car, green clothes. Oh, we’ve got that, too.
