Doctor’s orders: classic cars to tour Vienna

Soaking up the festive feel should be well possible in Vienna, with Christmas markets and stalls everywhere throughout the city. There’s more to do and see though.

Doctor Jackob Barnea has plenty of big boy's (and big girl's) toys at his ‘Oldtimertreff’ in Vienna. The doctor started purchasing and restoring classic cars during his time as a Medical student and by the end of the 1980s he’d also restored Vienna’s oldest repair shop and had started restoring vehicles for clients as well. In 1997 he founded his own automotive museum with over 100 cars on display. But you’ll find classic toys for sale here too. And now he is adding an online auction platform for vintage and collectible vehicles - both for interested buyers and suppliers. You can now follow the current vintage car auction online here.

For those who do not want to bid for a car, but do like to get a taste of it all, there are gift vouchers for hiring classic cars and sports cars as a Christmas or birthday present. Barnea’s place is now Europe's largest classic car rental with 80 vintage cars from MG to Rolls-Royce from 1920 to 1987 and convertibles and coupes from 1937 to 2010 available. Information here.
