Winter film footage found of 1955 Moretti 1200 Spider

It's always great when you find back a few snippets of  history on your classic car. Letters, documents, old photos. Anything. But what's the chance that you get hold on old Single-8 or Super-8 filmstock of your car? Martin Dijkhof,  renowned coachbuilder and restorer, is the lucky one who had this happen to him.

Martin restored his 1955 Moretti 1200  Spider Michelotti to concours condition over a period of more than five years. A magazine article about the restoration came in the hands of Pieter Berkhout. His father once was the owner of the Moretti. Pieter remembers the Moretti as 'the car of his dreams'. He called Martin and asked if he could visit his workshop in Achterveld, Holland. Aside many vivid memories he brought a treasure with him. A short movie showing his pipesmoking father and the Moretti,  setting of for a unique trip. In the most severe winter Holland had in the past 60 years the large IJsselmeer lake was frozen. And a lot of carclubs used the opportunity to cross the lake by car. The Moretti was one of those.
