Go well, Go… (Upd. III: Crystal Palace; centenary of Henry Ford's Birth)

This photo comes from the Ford Archives and shows Formula One racing legend Graham Hill. Pictured in 1963 he is driving Henry Ford's first vehicle, the Quadricycle. The original was made by Henry Ford in 1896, but this one is a replica. We are curious to know what the occasion was that found Hill at the tiller of a car with no brakes.
