For this year’s main event the MG Magnette Register chose the name “GP100”, the initials of Gerald Palmer, the designer of the Magnette and “100” was to mark the centenary of his birth in 1911. Other single-marque clubs representing Gerald Palmer major creations were invited to BMIHT’s motor museum at Gaydon, where a unique display of Palmer-designed cars, ranging from the Scammel lorry through Y-type, Jowett Javelin, Magnette, Riley Pathfinder and Wolseley could be found on the parking. It was an important anniversary that did not pass uncelebrated; indeed, it was celebrated in fitting style! For a complete report on the event and more photos see the websites of GP100 and the MG Magnette register.
