In the driver's seat: Lancia Flaminia 2800 3C Convertible

Probably the best way to testdrive a car is without any preparation. Starting without expectations or presumptions. Yesterday afternoon it was by sheer coincidence that we landed behind the wheel of this elegant Touring design for several hours without the hassle of an onlooking owner or a demanding photographer... The Flaminia that was the follow up of the Aurelia B24 convertible which at first glance is much more dynamic. In terms of outer appearance you don't expect warmblooded behaviour. The american inspired looks suggest boulevard cruising and sofa soft road holding. Yet what a surprise! A true sportscar in  late fifties 'Ford disguise'.

Sorry, we know we're not making friends with these, but let's be honest, this is not an Lancia Aurelia or California Spider from Maranello. This is quite a different piece of cake. Anyway looking at the car without further knowledge you don't expect a deep triple weber fed growl that launches you much faster than expected from any speed. You don't expect crisp cornering pleasures. It's a package of the unexpected. A full fledge Italian in urban attire. Very subtle, very elegant, very attractive.
