Luxury Boys love Dusty Cats

Adolfo Masari and Andrew Mastin - the two man behind Luxury Brokers International -  don't open any random barn. They have a special appetite for barns that may contain E-types! They just love ''mummified" cats. And yes - young as they are - they found a handfull of those over the last years. Here is the story of another beauty they recently freed.  

"Rainy, cold, and miserable are three words that describe this year’s AACA fall meet in Hershey, PA. To make matters worse, the rain resulted in a final day disaster where our display tent collapsed onto a car. Defeated and soaked, it seemed as if there was no light at the end of the tunnel until the clouds broke free and people began browsing the car-filled Hershey Park grounds once more. It was at that moment when a gentleman introduced himself and the car talk began. A few days later, after I had just got done proclaiming that “We will never go to the Hershey event in the rain ever again!” I received a call from the same gentleman that I had met at the show a few days ago explaining that he had seen an old E-Type lying dormant in a small garage that maybe for sale. With my car guy senses in full force, Andrew and I were on the road armed with a truck and trailer, the next day. 

When pulling up, we were greeted by a lovely lady; Flo and her equally as pleasant husband. The story goes that in 1972, Flo’s husband granted her wish of wanting to own a Jaguar by surprising her after work. Sitting in their driveway was a beautiful British Racing Green over tan E-type Coupe. There were however two problems; she did not know how to drive stick and she hated the colors! After learning how to drive stick, the color issue was then addressed which resulted in a color change to blue with a parchment interior.  A color change that would have Sir William Lyons turning in his grave! But this is what Flo wanted and it was still gorgeous none the less. She drove the car using it sparingly until the late 80’s after accumulating 56,000 miles on the odometer. The car needed some attention with the intent of replacing the rubber seals along with some minor engine work. The repairs were never finished and there the car sat from 1988 until now.

The sight was absolute heaven. Right in front of our eyes was Flo’s once glorious E-Type surrounded by boxes, cob webs, and covered in 25 years of dust! The original purchase receipt from 1972 still with it. I guess we will be going back to Hershey in the rain after all…"
