Mother’s Day 2017: what women want

Don’t forget your good old mother this Sunday – it will be Mother’s Day. You can bring her flowers or chocolates, but why not take her out for a ride? It’s Spring, the sun may well be shining and we’re sure you’ll find a fitting destination. What car to choose? Well did you know several manufacturers tried to make women-specific cars back in the golden age of motoring? There was the Dodge La Femme, white and pink in colour, and outfitted with specific accessories such as colour coded lipstick holder, umbrella and handbag. Others were the Chrysler La Comtesse, Chevrolet Impala Martinique, and Cadillac Eldorado Seville Baroness. And how about the one seen above: the Buick Flamingo with swivelling seats, upholstered in a remarkable Paisley fabric. The car is believed not to survive, so this may be your way to get your mother interested in barn finds?
