Sunday Simca Special mystery

Job van Huizen saw an intriguing Special and was quick enough to take a picture of it. He wrote: "I saw this Simca in the north of France. We could not get close enough to read the small coachbuilder's plate(?) attached ahead of the door. Looks like it is based upon a 5/Cinq, but I cannot find anything about the history of this particular car. Most suitable candidate is Gordini, but no exact match was found. Can you help us with the year, type, coachbuilder and history of this Simca special? Thank you in advance!"

Well... a glance in the formidable 'Les voitures françaises des années 50' by René Bellu usually gives away the details for a car like this, but not in this case! And a quick web search drew a blank, too, with just this 'Simca 8 Sport' pointing in the direction. Who helps Job out here?
