(Ford) Edsel stuck with lady in distress. (update)

Yesterday was the opening of the exposition "125 Years of Car Advertising" at the Louwman Museum. Meant as the grand finale of the opening was the 'relaunch' of a (Ford) Edsel convertible with a fashion model of let's say comparable vintage. Probably most of you know about the marketingflop the Edsel was in its time and yesterday the Edsel once more proved its unfortunate fate. Somewhere between cellar and stage the car got stuck with the electric lift motors burnt out. Getting the unhappy girl out of the car was no simple issue, but finally she was freed without being hurt. So the crowd of present car marketeers learned not to challenge fate. Happily there was more to learn at this fine overview of more than a century of car advertising. Print campaigns, creative highlights, and a great collection of car commercials since the fifties. If you are near be sure to visit the Louwman Museum. The exhibition is on until April 15th. The Edsel is in the museum as well. Best is to take the museum advice serious. Look, but don't touch.
