Back in 1966 Peugeot installed three desks in their head office at the Avenue de la Grande Armée, Paris. They were to be used by the three receptionists posted in the reception hall and they created a sensation. No, not the receptionists, the desks! They were created by Ben Swildens, a Dutch-born designer, living in Paris. A simple design, the desk was a metal shell winding in on itself to become the chair after having been the desk, all in the same movement. And today, 45 years after its creation, this desk had been re-released in a limited edition and will once again grace the Peugeot head office's reception hall at the Avenue de la Grande Armee.
