Amilcarist Pierre Dellière's Vespa Trip

Just before his 85th birthday, Mr Pierre Dellière passed away on Easter morning. As an honoury member of the ‘Circle Pégase’ Pierre was a collector with an incredible knowledge and a big heart for our shared hobby. He was not only one of the founders of ‘Ecurie des Trapadelles’, he also stood at the cradle of the “Musee Automobile de Province”.

A short vignette:
At the end of the war in Indo China (1953) Pierre bought a little scooter just as he was deployed back home. He asked his superiors if he could possibly travel back… over land from Saigon to Paris. Permission was granted and Pierre and his Vespa took on a 3-month journey while covering a good 10.000 miles. You can imagine his adventures! Because of lack of visa and/or free passes to cover the borders of various countries he incidentally had to enjoy a compulsory stay for a few days in a 'government hotel', but arrived bursting with energy in Paris.

Mr Pierre Dellière will be missed dearly.
