Rome last Sunday

Editor Bart Kleyn, being punished for relying on modern ways of transportation was stuck in Rome, not really a punishment, especially since he had the chance to visit the Fuoriserie car exhibition. Expectations were high, Fuoriserie is organised by the same people who organise the successful Padova fair.
Disappointment couldn't be bigger. One hall was nice, with some local car clubs bringing some nice cars. Your editors choice would have been this 1951 Vignale bodied Aurelia on a B50 platform, original car, in aluminium and with a plexiglas rear window. Car brought in by restorer Auto Nobile. Another hall was partly filled with resellers of parts and literature, not much interesting except a copied user manual for the Aprilia which was purchased at the exorbitant price of € 49,95. The third hall looked more as a used car lot at a dealer with in the back some boom-blasting tuned cars, great if its your taste and if you are already deaf. Stand holders and visitors alike complained about the low number of cars being brought in.

Your editor had been spoiled. Setting out the road for the Via Flaminia he visited the Museo dell Automobile , the Museo Taruffi and the Scuderia Campelloampello where il Giudici (judge, with the Al Capone voice) is looking to complete his Lancia collection with an Aurelia. He was flabbergasted at the sight of the Italian cars available on PostWarClassic.com
