Sophia versus Marcello - Mini versus Fiat UPDATE: not Marcello!

We found you another car scene from the silver screen. This is from the 1970 movie La Moglie del Prete, or The Priest’s Wife. It’s a comedy about a desperate wife looking for the help of a man and eventually bumping into a priest. It stars Sophia Loren (as the wife) and Marcello Mastroianni (as the priest) no less, which should say something about the quality. 

However, we don’t think we would have come across this flick if it hadn’t been for a car chase scene. It’s one with Sophia and Marcello behind the wheels of respectively an Innocenti Mini and a Fiat 850, both from the late 1960s. The front engined Mini, built under a licence in a Milan outskirt, and the rear engined Fiat were strong competitors at the time. Not just in Italy. They end up in a scene that does remind of a bullfight. Who wins? The one with the most temperament. See it for yourself.
