Stars of the show - Paris style

Are you coming to Paris next weekend? Expect plenty of French frivolities at Retromobile such as Chapron Citroens, Renault racers or Simca show cars. The one seen here is just that: a Simca Aronde Etoile that was unveiled in Paris at the Grand Palace where the motor show took place in 1959.

The ladies seen with it here were performing a show within the show to please press and public. They were Claude Bessy (middle) and two of her dancers of the ‘Opéra de Paris’, who were hired to promote the Aronde in the Etoile-edition (one more shot here). Did Simca of France aim at the ladies by doing so? Probably not, as men know to appreciate a prima ballerina, too. Besides, the Aronde Etoile’s brochure shows this was a car for everyone…
