As you may know dynamite is a Swedish invention by Alfred Nobel and patented in 1867. The Swedish built package shown above is slightly larger than a bar of dynamite yet the violence wrapped inside is similar. Richard Campbell is showing off his pride and passion: a 1953 Effyh F3. One of perhaps only six Effyhs imported into the US. Powered by a single-cylinder JAP Speedway engine (500cc) the full car will easily fit on an average office desk. Now this is just text and only when you drive it yourselves the one cylinder racing exprience is getting tangible. If you succeed sticking with the video despite the unbearable vibrations you will heaps of vintage material giving you the sense of speed! In the old days the Effyh was even more eager to be first. On the web piles of material about the little Swedisch built racers are to be found - check for instaance the period article "30 inches of dynamite" - so we're not going to repeat others here.
Editor: we like to thank Richard for sending in the Effyh experience with us and we welcome everybody who likes to share an intriguing driving experience. It doesn't need to be a race car. We just like to hear, feel and smell about some serous rides of the past.
