Tempting offers from Aston Island

You're probably not doing much driving in dreary old February, so why not do some shopping? Now is as good a time as any to indulge yourself with that Aston Martin you’ve always wanted. You can even combine it with a nice, bracing stay at the seaside. You haven't got to travel too far - a day should be sufficient time for most people to secure it - but if the weather is nice you might as well make the most of it and spend a night in a hotel. What on earth are we talking about? Well, no less than three classic Aston Martins happen to be for sale right now, all courtesy of Le Riche Automobile Restorers on the charming little island of Guernsey in the English Channel.

Coupé, drophead or two-plus-two?

Number one is a DB2 coupé of 1952 vintage in Botticelli Blue and with a blue leather interior, priced at £165,000. Originally sold in Essex, it was bought by its Guernsey owner in 1966, who had it resprayed in its original colour but drove it sparingly - just 7,000 miles were covered between 1985 and 2012, when it was put in storage. Apart from the original factory worksheet and comprehensive M.o.T. history, it also comes with full details of recent work.

If you're looking forward to a warm summer and plenty of sunshine, why not opt for the convertible variant? There’s a rare 1951 DB2 Vantage drophead coupé, too, for sale at £495,000. Interestingly, this one was shipped to New York and sold new in the U.S.A., just like the one used by Tippi Hedren in The Birds. It’s not that exact car - that was slightly later example and, oddly, right-hand drive - but you can still swan around looking like a film star. The seller says, 'There is no other significant documented history prior to its purchase and repatriation back to the UK in 2016, whereupon it underwent a complete mechanical and body restoration at great expense, incorporating many upgrades.' Did that include a conversion to rhd, perhaps?

The last offer from Aston Martin Island is a 1956 DB2/4 Mk. II, with the additional rear seat (for dogs and dwarfs) and opening hatchback door. Just the thing if you want your DB to be slightly more practical. Like the DB2 coupé, it has been owned for a long time by one man: 56 years no less! During that time it is said to have always been well cared for, and it's priced at £185,000.

Which one is the one for you? Better make up your mind quickly, because they won't be for sale forever...
