Stewart Wilkie sends this photo of the Radford Bentley he purchased from a Doctor who had owned her for over 30 years. During the last few years the doctor spent lots of time restoring or renewing what ever needed doing and only a tiny fraction of the car needed to be finished. So it is now being finished to its original glory.
Radford made a few MKVI shooting brakes in the forties. These were luxurious bespoke cars , this specifis car has electric front windows and a radio fitted which in 1948 was extremely unusual.
A few manufacturers tried to emulate Radford at the time with varying success but the association between Rolls Royce and Bentley with Radford and the quality of the coachbuilding made his company the one of choice. She was delivered in January 1949 to Sir Aymer Maxwell as his shooting car for his 27,000 acre estate in Dumfries and Galloway.
editor: We like to congratulate Stewart with this very special Bentley and can only advise him to start saving for a country estate or vineyard to make the car feel at home.
