Last time we showed you what could well be the only musical made by the motoring industry (click here). This time we found another brilliant piece of American future technology in moving images, showing three concept cars of three different manufacturers as early as 1948. First there is the Davis three-wheeler, seating four and with the possibility to turn on a stamp. Well, just about. The voice-over naturally mentions 'the aircraft principles' such as 'adaptation of the tricycle landing gear system' (yes, really) and built-in hydraulic jacks. Next there's an unknown four-wheeler with very aero-esque aluminium body (anyone here who knows its name? - it seems even the narrator doesn't know), and last but not least a fantastic four-wheeler with part-fibreglass body, a design by noone else than Gordon Buehrig. The car is seen demonstrated and driven by Buehrig himself, to conclude "And thus aircraft methods are becoming increasingly popular in automotove science."
