Mention “sleeping beauties” and we all know that it’s about the photo’s made in the early eighties about the antique and classic car collection of Frenchman Michael Dovaz. Now there’s a new book by Ard & Arnoud op de Weegh and Kay Hottendorf that tells the story of all those cars from the start of the collection to what happened to them after the split-up. Of course much is told about the many Bugatti’s, but there were also some attractive post-war cars. For instance this sad Hotchkiss-Grégoire of which Dovaz had two. Both were sold to a friend of Dovaz but after that they seem to have disappeared. The book is titled “The fate of the Sleeping Beauties” and is published by Veloce. Well worth reading!
