We are really glad to see this car coming in for sale. We have been hammering this issue before. The original Mille Miglia in the fifties was featuring primarily family saloons like this. The abundancy of ultrarare Etceterinis we see nowadays has very little to do with how the race looked like back than. So it is our humble opinion that the organisers should favour more this type of cars in order to produce a slighly more correct historic picture.
Now when zooming in to this particular 1950 Fiat 1400 (thnx for correcting our typo Steve!) it appears to be quite special anyway. Dr. Ottorino Monaco (what's in a name!) bought the Fiat and prepared it for racing following the rules of the "Categoria Turismo Internazionale 1500 cc" and started racing his car in 1951: Stella Alpina in February, Rallye de Sestrière in March, Mille Miglia in April, Coppa della Toscana in June, etc... So a true Sports Saloon with only one minor set back: the asking price of Euro 125,000. Talk about it with Bernard Marreyt
When your budget is slightly smaller we have this 1951 saloon alternative at hand. Also with good period rally history. Check it out and make up your mind.
