Tough to Crack Puzzle # 43

A sleek little roadster that has seen better days, but will surely be restored. It's not unusual to see only the fiberglass body, as this is a kit car that could be fitted on many chassis. At first there was a large one designed to fit a chassis with a wheelbase of 100 to 104 inches and a tread of 56 to 58 inches, which covered Chevrolet Corvettes and Ford Thunderbirds. It was followed a year later with a smaller body that fitted -mostly- import chassis like VW, MG and others. Several models were made from the late 1950s to the late 1960s. We can help you along a bit by telling that its creator came from Canada but moved to another country to start production. Can you tell us the name of this company; who founded it and perhaps even tell which model we are looking at? Send us your answer before Monday, August 27, mention Postwar Puzzle # 43 and please use no more than 100 words. Have a creative weekend!
