In the early post-war years one of the most expensive and luxurious models of the Chrysler range were the "Town & Country" versions, produced as sedan and convertible. The four door sedan was produced only between 1946-1948 with a number of 1000-2000 per year. With a price of 2.998 $ couldn´t be considered popular vehicles, and we suppose that very limited numbers were exported to Europe. The example pictured here has recently appeared in Spain in complete but semi-dismantled condition. It was sold originally to Spain in the 1940s. The history of this Chrysler is unknown, but very probably was bought new by a Spanish celebrity...surely a bullfighter. Despite the poor condition the car it still carries some rare parts as the huge metallic hinges of the trunk (photo 6) and shows the original colour combination of pale blue, white wheels and the brown tones of the wood. It must have been a very beautiful car when new and its new owner has already started a complete restoration job. Now our questions are: Do you know about another Town & Country originally sold in Europe? If yes, Cabrilolet or Sedan version? And restored or unrestored?
