Transporting a First Lady

We did a google search on cars and First Ladies of the past decades and were stumped by the sheer amount of photographs showing Jacqueline Kennedy getting in and out of state limousines. So we won’t show you any of these here. But we did find some more interesting stuff. Hat tips to those who can tell who these First Ladies are. Bonus points for those who know what kind of car they are in or with.

But our favourite photograph is the one shown above. That’s First Lady Bess and First Daughter Margaret Truman sitting first row. Behind them president Harry S. Truman and Vice President Alben W. Barkley having a laugh in the dickey-seat. Well, almost. The photograph was taken in Washington after their victory in the 1948 election.
