Turn away from Franay?

It's so easy to turn your back to a motorcar that to current taste may seem slightly overornamented (click the photo and reconsider).  The French family business Franay was mainly active with marques as Delage, Delahaye, Packard, Hispano and even Duesenberg. And for a reason. No matter what you think of the baroque chrome fittings which are characteristic of the firm, they tell you the story of the taste of the well to do of those days. These were the people who didn't like to visit the opera, the races and the boulevards unseen. They liked to be present and be noticed. It was a Dr. M Adel Latif form Switzerland who asked Franay to create the body for this Rolls Royce Silver Wraith. And we think the outcome is not only an autograph of Franay, it ads a sense of lightness and of course a dash of french  'savoir vivre'  to the otherwise 'stiff upperlip' Silver Wraith.
