Chevrolet has been building trucks and pickups for 95 years. Most lead a hard life, carrying stuff to and fro. But for 1955 Chevrolet presented the Cameo Carrier, a high-styled gentleman's pickup more at home in a trendy suburban California bungalow driveway than on a farm or in a factory yard. We wondered at the marketing thoughts behind this pickup. It seats only two (or three) so it's not a car for the whole family. But then most suburban families already owned a family saloon and probably the Cameo was marketed as a second car. Any thoughts on this? (Photo courtesy GM)
