It’s World Animal Day today, so don’t forget to give your beloved cat, dog, goat or rabbit some extra care. Cars and animals don’t go together very well, or do they? We do see dogs with their snouts out of (classic) car windows every now and then, which always make us think they quite like a drive. This photographic collection even suggest cars are a dog’s best friend. Feel free to share your experiences here.
And when you didn’t like the dog inside your coveted classic before it even was called so, then there was always this solution.
Over top today’s photograph, shot by Jack Garofalo for Paris Match Magazine in 1968 perhaps tried to answer the question: what would Tarzan drive? Although a four-by-four may have been the logical choice, a Porsche 911 Targa provided the answer. But then this was of course no real Tarzan. Spot the umbrella in the corner? It was there for a reason not much in the spirit of world animal day, as the second ‘making off’ photograph proves, with our Tarzan now wearing slippers…
