Wrong turn?

It’s been a while since we came across a fitting photograph for a caption contest, but this is definitely one. So no jokes from our side yet – we’ll do with the facts for now so you can write the wittiest of your comments below. What do we see? A seemingly Dutch man and woman - she in a fabulous flowery dress - in a well-packed Citroen DS Break with cosy curtains. He drives, she navigates, we think. No, that was no joke.

The registration number suggests it’s a 1963 car and it would be nothing unusual to see it in use near a hotel entrance, in a picturesque village centre, at a place of historic interest or on a camping site. This location is, however, slightly different. The distance from central Holland to Manhattan would be just under 6,000 kilometres, if you could do it in a straight line and with no Atlantic Ocean in between… Over to you!
