Yangtze Delta Rally - Day 3: Dongtai to Changzhou

What is better than driving a day in China behind a stunning low chassis Invicta S-Type, driven by two even more stunning German ladies? We had a lovely day of driving, good roads, small villages and some touristic places.

The day started with a ceremony in the forest, where local authorities had their saying and after that, we all started one minute after each other. A couple of long roads quickly changed into small countryside roads which was fantastic. We drove next to fields full of flowers, where many Chinese people with their typical hats were working. A stop was possible at an agriculture museum but as we were driving a bit too fast, the museum was still closed. We continued and drove through some villages that were typical Chinese (what we know from the movies).

The car drove perfectly but we had a flat tire again. Well, it was a wonderful thing as we stopped at a local tire shop, which was great. Real craftsmanship. We weren’t able to speak their language but when we showed our new inner tire they understood and within 10 minutes we were on the road again. They didn’t want any money or wine that we had in the back, but loved the famous PreWarCar.com stickers!

We drove the next 50 km between fully loaded old trucks, scooters and many cyclists. he finish was at a big shopping mall, that looked like a copy from one in London. The cars were behind fences on display for the local people. The hotel was nearby and the day ended of course in the bar. Again a great day in lovely China.
