Earlier this week we asked you about the fate of the Edsel, and if it deserves any better? Most of your replies left no doubt: it doesn’t. Bob Ward even suggested that Ford’s assembly lines might have run faster because of the Edsel, while workers weren't paid any extra, leading to them sabotaging the cars… So is it all misfortune? Chris Leigh-Jones wrote: “The designer's son (Ron) is still alive and lives in Charleston SC USA. He drives his father's early and immaculate Edsel to numerous local car shows. For those interested, here is a link to the one I met him at last year.”
Then came in an article about elderly people driving cars and their motor insurances. We wouldn’t have cared less about that, if it wasn’t for the lovely photograph accompanying the words. Is that a convertible Edsel? We think so. What’s more; these Friday Ladies certainly seem to enjoy that old car! So, whether you like it or not - keep those stories coming!
