This exceptional Ferrari 365 GTC, which publicly debuted at the London Motor Show and later formed part of rock legend Eric Clapton's collection of important Ferraris, is a rare right-hand drive example with documented provenance that few examples can match. Just 168 examples of the more powerful, 4.4-liter V12-powered 365 GTC were built over a two-year period, with just 22 of those being completed in right-hand drive configuration.

Chassis number 12721 is one such right-drive example, completed in 1969 wearing its current Bianco Polo (Polar White) and Pelle Blu (blue leather) livery and dispatched to Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. in Great Britain where it was due to appear at that year's London Motor Show at Earl's Court. The original factory invoice, dated 3 October 1969, notes "London Motor Show 1969" as the dispatch location and an original price of 5,350,000 Italian Lira. It was subsequently delivered to its first private owner, a Mr. J.R. Knowles of Reading, who registered the car "APJ 14H" and had it diligently maintained by Maranello Concessionaires throughout his tenure, with an unusually complete file of maintenance records and correspondence dating back to its first service in December 1969. After years of enjoyment, the Ferrari was placed in storage for approximately a decade as a consequence of Mr. Knwoles' health.

By 1987, the Ferrari had passed to a Mr. P.A. Teichman, who commissioned a complete restoration by the respected Phil Wood Specialist Services under the direction of Nick Cartwright, with all invoices preserved on file. Following completion in 1989, Teichman sold chassis 12721, passing through The Foundry in Bramley, before joining Mr. Peter Lloyd of Oxshott in 1992. The 365 GTC was promptly entrusted to Maranello Concessionaires for a bare metal respray in silver in 1993, at which time the odometer recorded just 23,075 miles. Maranello simultaneously sourced and fitted five Borrani wire wheels as part of the comprehensive recommissioning, the invoices for which document a concurrent and thorough mechanical restoration encompassing carburetor rebuilds, distributor overhaul, steering box strip and repair, renewal of suspension components and brake system, and specialist replating of all chromework.

Mr. John Devine of London became the car's next custodian in 1997, entrusting ongoing care to both Maranello Concessionaires and DK Engineering. The car was then briefly acquired by Raoul San Giorgi of Belgium before passing to rock legend Eric Clapton in 2003. The guitar virtuoso, whose passion for Ferrari was famously ignited by George Harrison's dark blue 365 GTC, commissioned DK Engineering to conduct a repaint in silver during his stewardship, with the odometer reading 28,374 miles at that time. Following its tenure in Clapton's stable of rare Ferraris, Mr. Shamir Deen of Wembley acquired the Ferrari in 2006, changing the registration to "ENZ 365." In 2010, the Rohan Fernando Family Foundation in Jersey purchased the car and presented it at the Goodwood Festival of Speed before entrusting TDH Classics Ltd. with a repaint from silver to Bianco Polo and a full retrim from black to Pelle Blu leather, returning the car to its original color scheme.

In 2013, the 365 GTC was acquired by a new British owner who used the Ferrari sparingly over the following years, with Barkaways in East Peckham performing work in 2018 alongside maintenance by his dedicated collection mechanic. The current owner acquired the car in 2020 and has continued the tradition of regular maintenance, with all servicing handled by a full-time collection technician.

Significantly, the car holds Ferrari Classiche certification, presented in the coveted "Red Book," confirming its matching numbers status. Furthermore, it is accompanied by an impressive and unbroken history file from new containing invoices, correspondence, and MOT certificates dating back to the 1970s, validating the genuine mileage of 32,395 miles from new at the time of consignment.
