Completed in 1989, this left-hand-drive 300 CE-24 was originally delivered new to Japan with an extensive list of factory equipment, including power-adjustable heated front seats with memory, air conditioning, cruise control, an electric sunroof, rear headrests, and power windows. Believed to have covered only approximately 1,300 kilometers from new, the coupe was subsequently entrusted to AMG Japan for a comprehensive cosmetic conversion centered around the marque's iconic wide-body treatment. Both front and rear quarter panels were widened to accommodate staggered 17-inch AMG Aero III three-piece wheels, while AMG front and rear bumper covers, side skirts, integrated fog lamps, and a rear decklid spoiler completed the dramatic exterior transformation. The interior received an equally distinctive AMG treatment with RECARO Idealsitz C (81) sport seats, white-faced AMG instrumentation featuring a 300 km/h speedometer, and a red leather four-spoke AMG steering wheel.

The CarVX report shows that the car was first registered in Japan in December 1989, and shows its final Japanese registration was in Yokohama in December 2022. Sold at auction in Japan on 24 November 2022, the inspection notes a prior collision that was previously repaired. It was then exported to the United Arab Emirates. There, a marque specialist performed a comprehensive refurbishment on behalf of the prior owner. The work is said to have included refinishing the body in its current shade of Signal Red and retrimming the interior in cream-colored Italian leather complemented by red carpeting and matching accents throughout the cabin.

Imported to the United States following completion of the refurbishment later in 2023, this striking AMG now displays just over 50,000 kilometers (31,000 miles) at the time of cataloging, a figure believed to be original. It benefits from extensive recent service work, all carried out by Mercedes-Benz of Jacksonville. In August 2024, a major service totaling $30,000 was completed, encompassing an "A" service, a brake fluid flush, four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, a wheel alignment, and replacement of the fuel hoses, all four brake pads and rotors, the cylinder head gasket, vacuum hoses, and coolant hoses. The air conditioning system was repaired and several oil leaks addressed at the same time, along with replacement of the engine mounts. More recently, in January 2026, the transmission was resealed at a further cost of $7,800.

Combining the desirable C124 platform with an AMG wide-body conversion, exceptional presentation, and remarkably low mileage, this captivating coupe embodies the creativity and exclusivity that defined AMG's independent era and is certain to command attention wherever it appears.
