When Mercedes-Benz unveiled the W140 S-Class at Geneva in 1991, it set out to build the most thoroughly engineered car in the world, and the C140 Coupe that followed was its most refined expression. By the time production ended in late 1998, over 26,000 C140s had been built since 1992, yet approximately 8,500 carried a V12; of those, just 252 reached U.S. shores for the 1994 model year. At the top of that hierarchy sat the S 600, powered by the M120, a 6.0-liter, naturally aspirated V12 producing 389 horsepower-the same fundamental engine that would later find its way into the Pagani Zonda. Pillarless, imposing, and quietly devastating in a straight line, the S600 Coupe was the Mercedes for those with nothing left to prove.

This 1994 example is finished in Black with grey lower cladding over Grey leather, a combination that lends the bodywork a restrained elegance. Under previous ownership, the car was fitted with twenty-inch multi-piece staggered wheels with matching black centers, polished lips, and AMG-branded center caps. A detailed and clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report traces the car's previous ownership across Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and Alabama, where it received routine attention from Mercedes-Benz of Mobile, before being imported to British Columbia, Canada, circa 2009. A selection of invoices from that period indicates that it was owned by a Mr. Lee Winter, who had the car serviced at Mercedes-Benz Nanaimo. It remained in Canada as late as September 2021, then belonging to a Mr. Mazar Mansour according to an Ontario Ministry of Transportation vehicle permit, before joining The Patina Collective in 2025.

The M120 V12 delivers its power smoothly through the 722.3 automatic transmission, and upon arrival to the collection, the engine bay harness was reviewed and serviced-a known consideration on these cars. Inside, the interior is noted as being dry, showing signs of aging. The car retains its factory telephone, while the radio head unit has been upgraded to a Pioneer stereo.

Now showing 116,160 miles at the time of cataloging, chassis number 177921 is among the increasingly sought-after flagship V12 coupes of the 1990s, ideal for the collector who appreciates Mercedes-Benz engineering ambition at its zenith.
