According to its factory Data Card, this 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300 TE was ordered through Mercedes-Benz's Munich branch finished in Blue Black Metallic over a Black cloth interior. Factory equipment includes a four-speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, heat-insulating glass, headlamp wipers and washers, trailer coupling, 15-hole light-alloy wheels, rear loudspeakers, and deletion of the model designation on the tailgate.

Per the accompanying CarVX Report, the car was first registered in Japan in December 1995. At some point during its life in Japan, the wagon was fitted with a period AMG-style body kit comprising revised front and rear bumpers and side skirts, giving the estate a more assertive visual presence.
