Chassis No. WDB1240511B111597
Completed in October 1989 and ordered through Mercedes-Benz's Schwäbisch Gmünd branch, this 300 CE-24 was specified in elegant Blue Black Metallic over a Black leather interior. Well-equipped from new, it features a desirable factory option list that includes electrically adjustable front seats, a passenger-side airbag, electric sliding sunroof, cruise control with electrically adjustable steering column, rear power sunshade, heated front seats, anti-theft alarm system, and Automatic Slip Differential (ASD).
At the heart of the CE-24 is Mercedes-Benz's sophisticated 3.0-liter M104 24-valve inline-six, a powerplant celebrated for its refinement and smooth power delivery. This example has been enhanced with a period Albrex supercharger conversion, complemented by an Albert intake adaptor, Albert electronic ignition control unit, and a VDO boost gauge. Power is delivered through the factory five-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels, creating a distinctive blend of refined grand touring character with a potent increase in performance.
Further upgrades include AMG white lowering springs, AMG-specification Bilstein shock absorbers, 17-inch AMG Aero I wheels, and AMG exhaust tips, giving the pillarless coupe a purposeful stance while maintaining its understated appearance. Last, the car was upgraded with the 124s final style hood with integrated grille along with its headlights. Remaining in Germany from new, the car was imported to the United States in 2022 and subsequently entered The Patina Collective. Combining desirable factory specifications with tasteful period performance enhancements, this supercharged 300 CE-24 represents a compelling interpretation of the timeless C124.
